Mission to St. Lucia
Dear supporters of the Mission to St. Lucia,
We want to express our deep gratitude for your support of our mission to St. Lucia. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of you and so many others who gave to make our mission possible.
We want to share with you that we have decided to cancel this summer’s mission trip to St. Lucia, due to the restrictions in place here and in St. Lucia in response to COVID-19. We have been praying and monitoring the situation in St. Lucia, and most of all we want to ask your prayers for the people of St. Lucia. To date, St. Lucia only has 18 cases of COVID-19, but they have closed down the island to all travel, and are currently in a state of quarantine similar to us. However, the people there are facing food shortages - Fr. Cleo, the pastor in Millet, where we had planned to mission, has asked our prayers for his parishes and the whole of St. Lucia.
We are planning to return to St. Lucia in 2021, and we believe that the mission will be even more important given all that has happened. We will be saving the funds you have donated to be put towards this mission next year. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at administration@osunewman.org.
We will be keeping all of you in our prayers, and we ask that you keep us and the people of St. Lucia in your prayers as well!
In Christ,
The St. Lucia Mission Team
