Solemn Household Commitment
I commit to the Lord and my fellow brothers (sisters) in Christ to live in fellowship, devote myself to the apostles’ teachings, share in meals and prayer, and share everything in common, including household responsibilities and chores. I commit myself to the spiritual guidance and direction of the Newman Center and the St. John Society. I commit to seeking to foster a spirit of fraternity, joy, and generosity. Seeking the goodwill of others - Striving to console rather than be consoled, to understand than to be understood, to love rather than to be loved, to give of myself rather than receive. I commit to a community study of virtues (through the “Virtus” readings) and working to implement them in my life, for it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
By electronically signing here below, I solemnly commit to the Lord, my brothers (sisters) in Christ, and to the greater Christian community (the OSU Newman Center) to live out the Household Program for this academic year.
