Newman Lecture - Faith and Feminism

Join us for the second webinar in our public Newman Lecture Series. We are welcoming Dr. Abigail Favale for a free, online lecture discussing feminism and faith.

Dr. Abigail Favale is currently the dean of George Fox University’s College of Humanities and an Associate Professor of English. In 2005, she graduated from George Fox University with a philosophy degree and went on to complete her doctorate at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland where she received the Overseas Research Award. In her memoir, Into the Deep, Favale shares her transition from evangelicalism through postmodern feminism and, ultimately, into Catholicism. She writes candidly about wrestling with wounds from her past, Catholic sexual morality, the male priesthood, and an interfaith marriage. She will share about her own story and how the adoption of feminist hermeneutics impacted her understanding of God.
