OSU Newman’s 2026 Spring term Lecture will be presented by Carl Olson.
Carl E. Olson is the editor of Catholic World Report and has worked for Ignatius Press for over twenty years. He is the author of Will Catholics Be “Left Behind”? and Did Jesus Really Rise from the Dead?, co-author of The Da Vinci Hoax, and co-editor/contributor to Called To Be Children of God, all published by Ignatius Press.
He has also written two short books for Catholic Truth Society on Advent and Lent, authored two Study Guides for video series produced by Bishop Robert Barron, and hundreds of articles on theology, Scripture, apologetics, culture, and current events for a variety of publications. He and Fr. Robert Spitzer, SJ, are co-authoring three books on apologetics; the first volume, The Most Asked Questions About Faith, Reason, Jesus, and the Bible, will be published by Ignatius Press this fall.
He and his wife, Heather, entered the Catholic Church together in 1997. They have three children and have been parishioners at Nativity of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church for over 25 years. .
