OSU Newman’s 2025 Fall Term Lecture will be presented by Dr. Giussepe Cataldo.
Dr. Cataldo is Assistant Chief for Technology at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. Since 2010 he has participated in several scientific missions including the Webb Space Telescope and Mars Sample Return, as well as various technology development projects. Dr. Cataldo holds a PhD in aeronautics and astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and several master’s degrees in aerospace engineering from France and Italy. He has received numerous awards including NASA’s Early Career Public Achievement Medal and Mentoring Award. Dr. Cataldo will guide us through the scientific advances and philosophical and religious reflections that have developed over the centuries to show that a reconciliation between science and faith is possible.
