Andrew Gass, Ben Kosmatka, and Connor York take their first formal step towards the priesthood as they become postulants with the SSJ.

Monday, August 20th at 7 PM, with a small Mass celebrated at St. Michael’s in Portland, these three men were sent to continue their formation in Washington, D.C. They will begin studying philosophy at the Dominican House of Studies, as they join a house of 9 members in formation, under the guidance of Fr. Ivan Pertine. The Gospel for the Mass was providentially the calling of the young rich man. Those present at the Mass were able to reaffirm that the Lord still calls the young, and the rich (since these three men are very capable disciples). The young rich man said “no” and went away sad; these three men said “yes” and went away rejoicing! (as you can see in the picture). Let us continue to pray for them and their families!
