Purity Crusade!

PURITY CRUSADE 2012

In the month of Mary, the Newman Center is offering a program for those who would like to grow in the virtue of purity. The program will begin Thursday, May 3rd at the 8:00 p.m. Mass and end on Thursday, May 24th at the Consecration to Mary 8:00 p.m. Mass with the blessing and reception of the scapulars. The program consists of the following:

1) Wear the purity crusade t-shirt once a week.

2) Read a text and reflect on a purity topic once per week.

3) Pray the daily consecration to Mary every day.

4) Rosary with someone else in the program once per week and on-campus.

Mother’s Day Weekend

During Mother’s Day Weekend at Oregon State University, Friday, May 4th through Sunday, May 6th, the Newman Center will hold a 9:00 a.m. Saturday Mass at the Newman Center Chapel with a brunch immediately afterwards.

2012 Camping Trip

WHEN: Saturday, May 19th – Sunday May 20th
WHERE: Cape Perpetua (on the Oregon Coast!!)
COST: $30 (please pay prior to start of camping trip)
LEAVE: depart from the Newman Center on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
ARRIVE: arrive to the Newman Center on Sunday at around 4:00 p.m.
PLEASE BRING: Sleeping bag, tent (if you have one), any cooking equipment such as a propane grill, any sports balls (volleyball, soccer ball, etc)., personal toiletries.

Feminine Genius Weekend Workshop

This weekend workshop on the coast, April 21-22, will delve into what it means to be feminine: our creation, our fall, our redemption, our vices and our virtues . . . how to embrace the “feminine genius” with which God has created us. There will be plenty of discussion, some talks, small group sharing, prayer, and recreation. Place: Neskowin. Cost: $10. For more details, contact Sr. Teresa at the PDX Newman Center.
